The Quilt Walk

Grandpa requested that whomever in the family could come down would come down and be in the Enoch Pioneer Day Parade.

The float was themed after the following story. When the pioneers settled Panguich Utah their crops froze and they were not going to have enough food to get through the winter, so the town decided to send a group of men (one being Mike's Great-Great Grandpa) to Cedar City to get reserves for the town. When the group got to a certain pass (I don't remember the name) the snow was too deep and the group was not going to be able to make it through. So they put down a quilt and all kneeled down to pray for guidance. As they were praying they realized that the surface area (math teacher talking) of the quilt kept them from sinking, so they put one quilt down walked to the end and then placed another, and sort of leap froged on quilts through the pass. Grandpa thought this would be fitting for our family since all the women quilt, and Grandma loved to quilt, she would quilt a blanket for everyone of her grand kids that got married.

The float looked great, Aidan is in the back there with the boys.

My little Madisyn sat on the front of the float with Grandpa.

Mike and I walked behind the float to try to monitor candy and the saftey of the kids wanting to jump on and off the float.

Nicole came along as well. It was a great little walk, and a wonderful day for a parade.
