Second Day in Nauvoo

8:36 am and I checked my text messages to find that my Dad had been texting me since 730 am trying to get me up and out the door to be on a carriage ride at 9 am, and sadly it was my idea, I just hadn't paid attention to the time, anyways it became a fire drill and we were out of the door in less then 10 minutes. It was amazing. My sister Jenni put me to shame by getting ready so fast. She was unbelievable. And WE MADE IT!!

This was the best highlight of our carriage ride, the best Temple Missionaries out there, Brother and Sister McKenna, standing by a stop sign to wave hello.

The carriage ride also talked about the Trial of Hope. This was the road that lead to the Mississippi River where the saints crossed to head west. Along the road there are journal entires from the saints as they said goodbye to their Beautiful Nauvoo.

After the carriage ride you got to line up to pet the horses.

Nicole even got to pet one.

Then we went to a show called "Just Plain Anna Amanda" and Aidan got called up to sing the last part of the show. It was really fun.

The show started with puppets that Nicole LOVED. They sang primary songs and told jokes to the kids. It was really cute.

We visited multiple houses, I didn't take tons of pictures, but we went through the Bakery, where we learned about the blue Nauvoo Temple plate, we went through the gun shop Brownings Home, this was Mike's favorite, the post office, the print shop, the brick yard and Lucy Mack Smiths home, where I left a little present for Max upstairs...")

Everyone gets a brick that goes through the brickyard, but Nicole thought the brick was a camara. We all laughed.

We took Nicole home for a nap, and Mike needed to do some work so Mike and I and Nicole left to get some rest, and then we came back to enjoy dinner at the Nauvoo House and a chance for us to put our feet in the Mississippi River.

I put my feet in, and we even talked Nana into putting her feet in. It was actually really warm, considering it Freezes in the winter so thick the Saints could take their wagons across the ice.

Grandpa asked Aidan to throw a rock in for him, and here he is throwing that rock as far as he can throw.
